Job Summary: We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants to support classroom teachers and contribute to the overall learning and development of students in primary schools across Northampton.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of lessons under the guidance of the class teacher.
  • Provide targeted support to individual students or small groups, including those with special educational needs.
  • Help to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support the assessment and monitoring of student progress.
  • Prepare and maintain classroom resources and materials.
  • Supervise students during non-classroom activities, such as lunch and break times.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

Requirements:

  • HLTA qualification or equivalent.
  • Proven experience working in a classroom setting, preferably in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of the national curriculum and educational best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning.
