Duties & Responsibilities

Responsible for the effective provision and operation of corrosion management systems and services to the allocated site(s), to ensure, in conjunction with the Senior Inspection Engineer, that the integrity of plant and equipment is maintained in accordance with Oceaneering and Client codes of practice, strategies and UK legislation, ensuring feedback of results to the Client Principal Integrity Engineer.

Functions

ESSENTIAL

· Ensure compliance to Regulatory requirements and client standards

· Support Project Manager and Senior Inspection Engineer in appropriate aspects of management of Oceaneering contract providing assurance on technical delivery and cost management

· Assist in development and maintenance of Client integrity strategy documentation, and ensure implementation of corrosion management control strategy

· Provide technical leadership and authority in designated corrosion engineering discipline, designating work where applicable to assistant engineers within their technical capabilities, and verify assistant engineer output

· Undertake risk-based assessments on behalf of the client, and provide corrosion expertise to, and effectively interact with, multi-disciplinary RBA or other process groups

· Provide input to the production and ongoing management of the asset Annual Inspection Plans and client planning process compliance for corrosion monitoring activities

· Assist the Senior Inspection Engineer in the production and review of pipework and vessel inspection workscopes and workpacks

· Ensure the effective application of innovative inspection and corrosion engineering applications and specialist technologies

· Undertake investigation of anomalies and evidence of material deterioration or failure, including provision of recommendations for remediation of anomalies and failures

· Manage and coordinate third-party failure investigations involving material and corrosion issues, in accordance with prescribed or approved failure investigation procedures

· Provide authoritative technical assessment and interpretation of corrosion/inspection monitoring data

· Recommend changes in corrosion criticality analyses and monitoring/inspection programmes where appropriate

· Deliver periodic reports, corrosion status of systems, identification and assessment of significant trends from surveys and Chemical and Corrosion Control Matrices (CCCMs)

· Maintain appropriate level of contact with asset teams, third parties and internal disciplines to ensure an effective Corrosion Management service

· Compilation of Quarterly and Annual Integrity Status Reporting with support from Inspection Engineers onshore and offshore

· May very occasionally be required to visit offshore site to provide on-site technical expertise

· Assist the Project Manager to achieve Key Performance Indicator (KPI) deliverables and overall management of the service.

NON-ESSENTIAL

· Undertake specific projects as instructed by management.



Qualifications

REQUIRED

· Degree in Materials Engineering or similar discipline, or degree in related engineering / science discipline with relevant supplementary Materials Engineering / Corrosion training.

DESIRED

· Chartered Engineer as defined by the Engineering Council or equivalent

· Postgraduate qualification in corrosion

· Offshore medical, BOSIET and MIST certification
