The teacher will be responsible for managing the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning within the context of a broader Individual & Societies programme for ISL's Secondary School.

1. Leadership

Be responsible for leading the development of IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and MYP I&S through collaborative planning with relevant staff in SecondaryOversee the IB Diploma courses and MYP I&S in managing all aspects of teaching and learning, including: curriculum development; assessment and reporting; management of rooms and resources to create a safe and visually appealing learning environment; regular refreshment of displays and showcasing of workLiaise with staff in the I&S Department and the MYP/DP Coordinators to ensure continuity of programmeBe responsible for reporting budget items under the broader I&S Department to the HOD Attend all Department meetings and School professional development sessionsParticipate fully in an expanding ISL I&S Programme 2. PersonnelCoordinate visits and performances, both internal and external, related to taught curriculum 3. AccountabilityDevelop IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and MYP I&S courses in alignment with the School's strategic plan for the Department and student agencyParticipate in Department meetings, liaising with key staff as appropriatePlay a significant part in the organisation of CWOW experiences for studentsParticipate in professional learning and contribute to regular staff training/meetings 4. Academic QualityCreate a happy, challenging and effective learning environmentHave a high level of understanding of how children learn and possess the ability to motivate students to perform at their bestThrough differentiated and personalised instruction, be able to inspire diverse classes, creating individualised, challenging and engaging learning opportunities for all studentsSupport student needs in learning and pastoral mattersImplement curriculum policy and strategic plansLiaise with colleagues and curriculum leaders to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum to specified classes, including selecting resources and managing them efficiently in the classroomDesign, develop, implement and review the IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and MYP I&S programmeContribute to the extra-curricular activities programme of the school 5. ChronologyInstigate and develop an innovative approach to IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and MYP I&SDemonstrate and encourage high standards of professionalism from all staff involved with I&S coursesEnsure all planning in regard to the IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and MYP I&S courses is done in a timely and professional manner 6. CommunityContribute to the development of a positive attitude between the I&S Programme and the wider community through cooperative relations, publications, etc.Co-ordinate with the appropriate personnel to ensure that all tasks are carried out by teaching and non-teaching staff in relation to the I&S ProgrammePublicise and organise aspects of the I&S Department and courses in a timely fashion 7. AdministrationCoordinate with the HOD to draft all communication about events in relation to IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and MYP I&S courses to parents, other staff and the wider ISL community as appropriate 8. CommunicationEnsure information regarding students and student activity is communicated through the appropriate channels, working in conjunction with the Front Office Advise the HOD, MYP/DP Coordinators, Secondary Principal and Head of Operations on all matters connected with public performances, exhibitions and showsCommunicate with the wider community as appropriate, in a timely and professional mannerLiaise with other agencies and support services as necessary 9. FinancesWorking with the HOD, be involved with managing the annual budget for IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and MYP I&S courses, making proposals for the best use of funds Ensure all IB Diploma Business Management, IB Diploma Economics and relevant MYP I&S resources are properly budgeted Manage the deployment of resources – keeping shelves, cupboards, rooms and areas ordered and tidy 10. Care & Guidance

To be familiar with the School's Child Protection Policy and to report concerns to the designated Child Protection Officer
