What is the opportunity?

This is an exciting opportunity offering great exposure and the chance to be responsible for ensuring that Collections and Recoveries operate within UK Regulation and Group and Retail UK policies. These policies have been designed to deliver good customer outcomes whilst also mitigating commercial, conduct and operational risk to the Group. The role will include management and evidencing adherence to the Training & Competency framework, as well as managing departmental business continuity.

In this role, you will:
  • Be the point of expertise within UK Collections & Recoveries to mitigate risk and exposure and to ensure effective resolution of issues
  • Own, manage and develop the Training and Competence Scheme across UK Collections & Recoveries
  • Manage staff, as required, to provide sufficient oversight of compliance to policy and regulation.
  • Drive a culture of Risk Management across the Department, which ensures staff recognize & consider risk at all points of the customer journey.
  • Participate and sign-off of strategic and operational projects. Provide knowledge and guidance to ensure successful implementation of projects/changes
  • Act as point of contact for internal and external regulatory visits. Lead and facilitate scope of review(s), site access and requirements.
What will make you stand out?

We are seeking someone who is able to demonstrate an understanding of UK Collections and Recoveries industry, including a working knowledge of industry legislation/regulation.

You will need to have knowledge of the Group Risk Management Framework, including experience gained within a compliance or risk role with evidence of delivering results in a demanding environment whilst handling conflicting priorities.

You will be able to identify creative solutions to complex business problems and have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. You will not only lead a team but will be comfortable and confident when engaging with peers and management at all levels.

Finally you will have a keen eye for detail and an investigative and enquiring mind with the ability to produce and analyse information effectively

The UK Operations business unit is a key enabler of this strategy and is responsible for all personal and business customer/account servicing, debt management, customer relationships (vulnerable customers, bereavements and complaints), operational resilience, IT and information security and supplier management & governance.

Collections and Recoveries is a high profile, collaborative team, within UK Operations, responsible for supporting customers experiencing financial difficulty.
