We have a fantastic opportunity for an Account Manager to join our family of talented people in the Key Partnerships Team.
As an Account Manager you will be working alongside an existing team of Key Account Managers and have the opportunity to make a real impact on this evolving part of the Petplan business with responsibility for driving Petplan's key partner proposition and growing our share of new business through our key partners.
The Key Account Manager will own the day-to-day management of their allocated key partner accounts as well as the delivery of their key partner strategy.
Your focus:
Deliver Commercial Objectives
- Work within the Partnerships team to shape strategic direction for your allocated Petplan Partnerships.
- Collaborating with the Partnerships Marketing and Field Sales teams you will be responsible for aligning all marketing activities with overall strategic objectives, ensuring that all campaigns deliver clear benefits for both Petplan and the partners.
- Delivery of partner-specific sales targets through combination of traditional channel engagement as well as new partner distribution programme.
- Ownership of key partner performance reporting and ensuring close collaboration with the Data & Insight team to comprehend and report on partner and campaign-specific performance.
- Work closely with the Partnerships Manager to oversee key partner sales performance, conducting analysis, monitoring, and enhancing acquisition activity.
Partner relationships:
- Establish and maintain a network of key stakeholders within the partnership, collaborating with the Partnerships Manager and Head of Partnerships.
- Implement a robust partner management structure, including structured review meetings, MI provision, key contact matrices, and action logs.
- Develop and manage strategic joint partner plans to secure long-term business and ensure the strategic importance of working with Petplan.
- Ensure partner contracts are in place, with a renewal programme, and maintain frequent contact to ensure compliance with regulatory status and embed relationships across Petplan.
Professional development:
- Establish best in class sales competencies among internal and external stakeholders – core selling and persuasion, questioning and communication technique development, activity planning as well as sales tools development and refinement.
- Continue to learn and develop new sales and marketing sales skills and practices to improve and optimise your performance and ensure achievement of both partner and Petplan's business targets.
- Deputise for Partnerships Manager as required
- Support other parts of the Partnerships / Pet Trading teams as required.
To be successful for the role you'll be enthusiastic and passionate about pets and petcare, keeping up to date with what is happening in the pet welfare and veterinary industries. Previous experience working within a Financial Services or pet-related industries is preferred, but not essential.
You will have experience of successfully working in an Account Management position where relationship and persuasion has been a key part of the role.
You will be numerate and commercially aware with strong analytical skills and the ability to monitor and report on performance metrics.
You will have excellent communication skills, confident, tactful and persuasive manner with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with partners.
You will have negotiation and influencing skills with ability to influence sideways and upwards when required and excellent written skills.
Collaboration skills and strong team player with organisational skills essential.
PC Literacy Including strong PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills.
Full driving licence is essential
Our Ways of WorkingThe role will be based homebased with some travel to Account Partners, team meetings and events as and when required. (please note some occasional overnight stays will be required with advance notice)
