About the team?

You will be a part of the successful Revenue Protection & Prosecutions Department. The department administers and actions all revenue protection sanctions issued by both on train and station based front-line colleagues. The successful operation of the department is a vital function on the Revenue Protection and Anti-Fraud Strategy.

About the job?

The success of the department relies upon the accuracy of data, and the smooth flow of the legal process, along with adherence to strict statutory time limits. You will assist the business by ensuring that the highest standards are maintained, and that the reputation and the revenue of the business is always protected.

As a Prosecutions Administration Officer, you will be receiving and entering revenue protection sanction items into case management systems and maintaining case records. You will also be gathering information and calculating fares and revenue loss arising from fare evasion.

You will be professionally communicating both in writing and over the telephone with members of the public who are the subject of revenue protection sanctions. You will also be responsible for processing of revenue protection sanction payments and Penalty Fare appeals, as well as other administrative duties.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Accurate and timely data handling and entry
  • Maintaining accurate case management records
  • Telephone contact with internal and external stakeholders
  • Producing and sending written communication regarding revenue protection actions
  • Receiving and recording payments
  • Calculating fares
  • Office administration

You'll need to be:

  • Familiar with GWR revenue protection processes,
  • Skilled verbal and written communicator
  • Competent in the use of IT especially MS Word and Excel and adaptable to using other software

As a minimum you'll need to have:

  • Experience of working to deadlines
  • Experience of working in a team environment
  • A keen attention to detail
  • Awareness of the Penalty Fare Regulations 2018 offences
  • Awareness of the Regulation of the Railways Act 1889 offences

About the location?

Reading is easily accessible on the GWR and other Train Company networks.

Working Pattern?

This is a weekday position with an expectation of 35 hours per week.

Additional Information?

There will be a requirement to work from Reading on a regular basis. However, there is also the ability to work remotely when performing some of the tasks.
