We are seeking a passionate and experienced Maths Lecturer to join our Construction Department.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality teaching and access to learning, focusing on Functional Skills and GCSE Maths for learners on Construction courses.

This role involves working with students of varying levels of ability and confidence, from Entry Level to Level 2.

You will play a crucial role in course design, programme development, and the overall expansion of the maths and construction area.


Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning:
Deliver high-quality, inspirational teaching both face-to-face and online, including evenings and non-term times.
Prepare and adapt teaching materials such as handouts, assignments, booklists, and assessment papers.
Develop Schemes of Work and Schemes of Assessment.
Provide teaching and assessment opportunities in line with awarding body requirements.
Carry out moderation, assessment, and verification.
Integrate personal development, behaviour, and attitude themes into the delivery model.
Prepare necessary administrative tasks for the effective operation of programmes.
Interview and assess students, developing Individual Learning Plans (ILPs).

Student Support and Progression:
Undertake tutorial responsibilities, tracking and reviewing student progress using Markbook and Promonitor.
Provide feedback on student progress in 1:1 meetings.
Arrange and support the progression and career guidance of students.
Ensure all CRC study support paperwork is completed accurately and timely for audit and funding claims.

Recruitment and Promotion:
Assist in the recruitment and admission of new students.
Attend promotional events to publicise College and departmental activities.
Contribute to the compilation of publicity materials.

Team Collaboration and Development:
Communicate effectively with team members.
Participate in team meetings, course reviews, and evaluations.
Respond to curriculum development and new course initiatives.
Advise on resource requirements for effective programme implementation.
Undertake course leadership responsibilities and duties as allocated.

Qualifications and Skills:
A degree in Mathematics or a related field.
Teaching qualification (desirable)
Experience teaching Functional Skills and GCSE Maths.
Strong organizational and administrative skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to inspire and motivate students of varying abilities.
Experience in course design and development is desirable.
