The role: We are currently looking for a Senior Marine Technician to join our team based in Portchester.

We work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, so the successful person will need to be able to work effectively when leading a team of technicians, to build to schedule and ensure all work is completed on time and to a high quality.

Role responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Daily tasking, work assignment and monitoring of performance within your team.
• Use knowledge and expertise to direct and lead the assembly of components and vessels to mechanical drawings and advising of the best techniques to use.
• Provide training and buddy support to other mechanical technicians.
• Ensure production quality is systematically maintained and improved. Quality check production assemblies and follow the company's production quality process.
• Liaise with Production Control and if required Materials team regarding material availability / shortages.
• Fitting out and assembly of boats and sub components to drawings.
• Assisting in the process of manufacture, painting, mechanical fitting and preparation of bare hulls; and repair of hulls and boat structures.
• Installation of engines, hydraulics and mechanical equipment and systems.
• Mechanical installation of customer payloads.
• Supporting and assisting with trials operations and customer support.
• Working with designers to develop and improve products, methods and drawings.
• Reporting of progress and any production issues.
• Liaise with subcontractors in the work shop to ensure subcontract work is complete efficiently.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Deputise for the production supervisor when necessary.

Essential Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

• Knowledge of electrical systems i.e. earthing, DC power, navigation, signal and control systems.
• Knowledge of electrical cable and loom, build, installation and test.
• Leading teams of at least 3-4 technicians.
• Good verbal communication.
• Positive, resilient and supportive of change.
• Organised, structured / methodical.
• Good Leadership and Interpersonal skills.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications / Experience:

• Knowledge of MRP systems i.e 123 web.
• Boat building / outfitting knowledge.
• Knowledge of industry best-practice boat build process.
