The Risk platform is the independent risk oversight function of DWS. Model Risk is part of the Risk function and is designed to provide governance and control to manage a variety of models used in the Firm and associated risks. The Model Risk team works as a global organization with team members in New York, London and Frankfurt with a focus around validating, testing and overseeing the usage of models related to Corporate Risk (liquidity/economic capital) and Investment Risk for Liquid and Illiquid investment strategies.

As part of the Financial Risk Management Team, the Senior Risk Manager for Digital Assets requires the establishment of a sound risk management framework to support DWS's digital asset activities. Working closely with the investment and product management teams, in particular the Digital Strategy, Products & Solutions ("DSPS") maintain a robust control environment while supporting DWS's growth objectives. The DSPS team was created in recognition of the impact that digital technologies - particularly APIs and blockchain - are having on the asset management industry at an ever-increasing speed. The DSPS team functions as the business hub for digital topics with a particular focus on digital assets and channels and is responsible for researching, evaluating and prioritizing opportunities and ultimately implementing new digital products and solutions to drive growth and client value.

At present the DSPS team has two focus areas managed as distinct projects:

Using the power of APIs to connect with our partners to deliver asset management-as-a-service ("AMaaS")Exploring opportunities for digital assets in asset management, including cryptocurrencies, stablecoins and tokenized funds.

The Senior Risk Manager will focus on risk topics associated with the initiatives mentioned above, in particular digital assets.

Your key

responsibilities:

Ensure a proper risk assessment methodology is being applied to digital asset related activities and service providers (e.g., external trading platforms/custodians/crypto registrars)Capture the risks of DWS's digital offering across the value chain and across risk-types and ensure proper monitoring and reporting on digital asset related risksDevelop and implement a risk framework for the management and operation of digital assets, including risk ownership, risk appetite, risk assessment and risk monitoringEnsure that risks and risk management processes are in line with sound governance principles and regulatory requirements (e.g., MiCAR, eWpG)Advice and educate stakeholders on risks associated with digital asset related products and solutions (incl. tokenized funds, stablecoins and cryptocurrencies)

Your skills and experience:

Sound Risk Management experience in a financial services environmentDeep understanding of blockchain technology, the digital and crypto asset markets and the risks associated with digital assets (incl. tokenized funds, stablecoins and cryptocurrencies)Demonstrated ability of designing and implementing new risk frameworks and processes across an organizationAffinity to regulatory topics in the financial services and digital asset fieldsStrong analytical skills, demonstrated leadership, and ability to "own" initiatives and work in a dynamic environmentUniversity degree primarily in Finance, Economics, or other science with a quantitative emphasis
