Eviden partners with private and public sector organisations across Finance, Energy, Manufacturing, Media and Government, helping them to understand the true organisational value of utilising Microsoft integrated solutions.

Due to a period of successful expansion across our organisation, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Azure Technical Architect to join our Microsoft Practice in Eviden.

The candidates must be eligible to obtain a security clearance to SC level.

Location: Home based

This permanent staff role can be performed remotely from within the UK to support a positive work – life balance, although we also have a network of offices across the UK which you can choose to visit from time to time.

Role and responsibilities:

An Azure Technical Architect designs, builds, deploys, and maintains business applications and critical infrastructure inside the Azure Cloud. The candidate needs to have developed skills and expertise to help the design and building of advanced cloud-based solutions and migration of existing workloads to the cloud.

Responsibilities are likely to include:

  • Architecting, building, and maintaining cost-efficient, scalable cloud environments for the organization.
  • Understanding business objectives of the client and creating cloud-based solutions to facilitate those objectives.
  • Migrating systems into the public cloud for more efficiency within the organization – aka digital transformation.
  • Keeping cloud environments secure and preventing downtime or security breaches, using well architected frameworks.
  • Determining the risk associated with third-party platforms or frameworks.
  • Looking for ways to improve DevOps within clients to automate common tasks.
  • Designing, building and maintaining internal cloud applications for the client.
  • Transferring data and internal processes to cloud architecture.
  • Keeping data leakage and downtime to an absolute minimum.
  • Keeping up to date on best practices in cloud computing and making improvements to the cloud infrastructure of the client.
  • Communicating with internal teams, like Sales, Operations, and IT.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders and building applications to meet project needs.
  • Designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code with ARM/Bicep/Terraform, configuration management, and monitoring solutions.
  • Providing guidance on automation, containerization, and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Produce high-quality technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, HLD's/LLD's/ implementation guides, and recommendations.

Required skills and experience:

  • In-depth knowledge of a wide range of Azure services - Azure Virtual Machines, Azure App Service, Azure SQL Database, Azure Storage, Azure Functions, Azure Networking.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security principles and practices. Familiarity with Azure security tools and services, such as Microsoft Defender, Azure ATP, Azure Sentinel, Azure Key Vault, Microsoft Entra, and Azure Firewall.
  • Experience in designing and implementing hybrid cloud solutions, integrating on-premises infrastructure with Azure services using technologies like Azure ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual Network, VPN Gateway, or Azure Arc.
  • Knowledge of Azure data services, including Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Databricks, and Azure Synapse Analytics. Experience with data migration and integration strategies.
