Due to exciting growth we are looking to hire 3 Recipe and Ingredient Managers to drive continuous commercial improvement by managing specific sector Approved Product Lists (APLs) and Recipes using aligned systems (Foodbuy, SAP, Source) effectively and maintaining recipe and ingredients data appropriately to meet consumer, client, and operational menu requirements in line with specific multi-site sector objectives.
Working as part of the Foodbuy Central Menus, Recipes and APL's Management Team and working closely with the Culinary Directors, Marketing, Nutrition, Central Food Development & Innovation teams this role will also produce and work with recipes specs, the recipe & Ingredient (APL) management processes, allergen data and GP expectations of menus as well as supporting marketing of the offer.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Foodbuy team and Category Development Managers through the Ingredient Owners Forum to implement all group initiatives through communication methods such as "Connections" and Termly Business reviews, menu briefs etc maximising commercial benefit through ingredient rationalisation, switches, and dynamic recipe management.Own, Manage, measure, and take required action to ensure ingredients list across all sectors is appropriate and up to date.Sustain maximised commercial benefit through supporting appropriate ingredient rationalisation, switches, and communication.Support the use of The Source, recipe, and menu planning tool in all units.Develop and deliver commercial support for retention and new business bids and mobilisation in all sectors around Ingredient and Recipes. Ensure that all programmes have clear business objectives with pre and post activity evaluation.Define sector implementation processes and support sector specific accreditation programs such as Food for Life, School food standards, Armed forces food-based Standards, JSP, Government Buying Standards (GBS) and Hospital Food Standards through dynamic recipe creation and management.Support the Health & Wellbeing programmeKey skills, knowledge and experience required:
Experienced in a culinary environment is preferred.Has a passion and shows Knowledge within food commodity groups & Ingredients. Ability to deliver and support associated presentations to all levels confidently and accurately.Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all levelsFinancially astute with regards to food costings and margin managementAbility to work on own initiative but within a framework.Working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to quickly gain credibility with key stakeholder groups.Commercially focussed with ability to measure impact and results.Ability to motivate and get the best out of our people through team leadership and coaching.Good numeric and analytical skillsAbility to proudly build our business together demonstrating Compass values and recognition principles.Experience of using process and planning to deliver consistent result to expectations.Approach to analysis of work problems and opportunities that allows commercially sound judgements to be made on time.An approach to negotiating and building co-operation that supports organisational goalsWe ensure you're rewarded for all your hard work, which is why we offer a comprehensive benefits package which includes but is not limited to:
