Join us as a Duty Wellbeing Adviser at The University of Salford and be part of Team Salford, and one of the UK's fastest growing universities.
We've made significant investment in mental health provisions in recent years and are fully committed to the wellbeing of our students.
Our Wellbeing team provides appropriate support, signposting and intervention for students experiencing emotional and / or psychological distress, or significant personal difficulties that may impede their engagement, success, and progression.
About the Duty Wellbeing Adviser role...
As the main point of contact for our students over evenings and weekends, the Duty Wellbeing Adviser will provide an immediate response in support for students experiencing emotional, psychological, or mental health difficulties.
We are looking for talented individuals who demonstrate excellent communication skills, who work sensitively, empathetically, and calmly with people that are experiencing distress or are in crisis. This role may also involve liaison with the on-campus security team, university accommodation providers, local hospitals, and the police.
Please note we're looking for applications from people with a proven clinical background, such as mental health nursing, and experience in mental health/clinical practice, and/or supporting people in crisis or in challenging situations.
The post holder will work across all sites in the University. As this role mainly supports students outside of core working hours it will include a range of shifts on a rotational basis. An example of the shift pattern is below;
Our counselling and wellbeing team is made up of a passionate team of experts, where the student experience is at the heart of everything they do. They deliver a wide range of services to help support students and their individual challenges and journeys. They engage with our students in a creative customer led, flexible and innovative way, whilst anticipating and responding to the needs of our diverse community.
