Role Overview: We are looking for individuals who are energetic, approachable, and passionate about working with children. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable, friendly, and fun-loving. As a Stepping Stones instructor, you will be responsible for delivering our swim program to children aged 3 to 11. Our teachers strive to build trust with each swimmer, maintaining consistency by teaching the same classes weekly. Our goal is for each teacher to become a mentor and role model for their swimmers.

Most lessons take place on weekday afternoons and weekends, offering flexible scheduling for additional hours on a temporary or permanent basis.

If you are not yet certified but are interested in becoming a swimming instructor, ask us about our training program to kickstart your journey.

  • Help each swimmer progress and develop within the program.
  • Assess swimmers for awards twice a year.
  • Provide necessary feedback to the Stepping Stones office.

Personal Attributes

We value swimming teachers who are lively, friendly, and approachable. As a Stepping Stones teacher, you should be able to adapt to individual swimmers' needs - some respond well to motivation and encouragement, while others require a gentler approach.

Our primary focus is on having fun; we believe that the key to engaging swimmers is for their instructor to enjoy the lessons. If you are a dynamic, outgoing, and confident swimming teacher, don't hesitate to reach out and start your journey with Stepping Stones.
