London, Greater London, United Kingdom Asthma + Lung UK Full time

Location: Hybrid working between the Aldgate, London office and home.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Head of Policy and Public Affairs to lead our policy development and campaigning to influence the new government to put people with lung conditions at the heart of their work and deliver cleaner air and better NHS services.

Asthma + Lung UK is the only charity in the UK fighting for everyone with a lung condition, aiming for a world where everyone can breathe with healthy lungs. We fund cutting-edge research, provide advice and support for the 12 million people who will get a lung condition during their lifetime. We also campaign for clean air and for better NHS diagnosis and treatment.

You will lead a large multi-disciplinary team to deliver our key policy and influencing activities across health policy at national and local systems level, clean air campaigning and public affairs lobbying. You will be an experienced, empathetic and inclusive leader with the ability to work with colleagues at different levels of seniority and drive our strategy forward.

You will have an in-depth understanding of policy development and how it can be deployed to effect change, knowledge of the political landscape and the pressure points to influence and you will have experience of bringing all of this together in impactful campaigns that improve people's lives. You will be a strong communicator with the ability to represent the organisation and people with lung conditions at external events. You will have experience in building relationships and pitching bids to funders with the ability to give advice directly to the Chief Executive and Executive Team.

As well as a competitive salary, you'll enjoy a range of benefits including 30 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), membership of a health cash plan, employee assistance programme, cycle-to-work scheme, interest-free annual season Travelcard loan and pension scheme. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an organisation committed to being the driving force behind the transformation of lung health.
