Summary

My client is an international boutique Architecture design practice, focusing on luxury and bespoke Hospitality projects across the globe. They are seeking a hands-on Chief Human Resources Officer to lead the HR function, stewarding the company's culture while establishing the programs, processes and platforms to guide their next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the President and COO, this individual will be a trusted partner to their management team, driving their talent acquisition, people operations, business partnering, and development strategies to support my client's mission and strategic plan. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role fostering a positive company culture, promoting employee engagement, and ensuring that their workforce strategies are aligned with the company's business objectives. The CHRO will be based out of a newly established London office looking after their 20 offices worldwide, and expected to travel to company locations as needed.

Responsibilities

Lead the People team, providing strategic direction – as well as project execution – in all aspects of human resources management. Provide mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to the People team.
Understand the company's business strategies and identify the talent needs to deliver these strategies. Translate the company's business plans into HR strategic and operational plans.
Implement and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure legal compliance and a fair and equitable workplace
Be a strategic partner to the senior management team on organizational issues, and trusted advisor to the leaders in the organization regarding the growth and development of their teams.
Counsel management and staff on employee relations issues, interpretation of company policies, procedures and guidelines.
Draft and implement the organizational staffing budget. Develop workforce plans that optimize workforce utilization while balancing the appropriate mix of FTEs and independent workers to meet business requirements.
Draft and manage the budget for the Human Resources department.
Develop and execute a comprehensive talent acquisition strategy to attract a diverse pipeline of high-performing talent. Oversee the recruiting process, including candidate sourcing/interviewing/selection, to ensure we hire candidates who embody their values.
Develop and oversee a best-in-class new hire experience reflective of the firm's brand and culture.
Strengthen the firm's culture through programs that integrate their mission, purpose, values, and goals. Develop methods to collect employee feedback, analyze responses, and take action to improve the employee experience.
Shape a learning culture where employees are energized and empowered to learn. Collaborate with HR and business leaders to implement programs for continuous learning and development, fostering a culture of growth.
Build leadership capability across the organization, creating an environment where leaders are expected to coach, develop, and grow their teams.
Develop performance management and talent calibration processes that measure employee performance in relation to the firm's strategic goals. Ensure that job descriptions, performance standards, and performance evaluation tools promote operational excellence and accountability.
Oversee People Operations including benefits administration, compensation, HRMS management, and payroll.
Design and manage comprehensive benefits and compensation programs that attract, reward, and retain top talent. Collaborate with the firm's Compensation Committee to develop the compensation philosophy and policies.
Maintain knowledge of legal requirements, regulations, and best practices in employment law where the firm operates. In partnership with legal counsel, ensure ongoing compliance with all legal and organizational requirements, standards and procedures.
Oversee the utilization of all HR systems to ensure appropriate access to accurate and reliable workforce-related data. Support the implementation of ADP as their new Human Resources Management System.
Provide insights and analytics to measure the effectiveness of HR programs and workforce utilization

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
Minimum of 10 years of experience in senior HR leadership roles, with a proven track record of developing and executing HR and talent strategies
HR certification (e.g. CIPD, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or SPHR) preferred
Must we be well-versed in UK and international employment laws.

Skills

Deep knowledge of all aspects of HR management including talent acquisition, onboarding, performance management, learning & development, employee engagement, DEIB, total rewards, compliance, and HR systems.
Demonstrated business acumen and the ability to implement HR strategies to support business objectives
Expertise in addressing employee relation issues and conducting sensitive investigations
Expertise in using HR data and analytics to inform decision-making
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to build and maintain relationships and all levels of the organization
Proven skills as an effective team player who can engender trust, credibility, and confidence within and outside of the company
Demonstrated ability to drive cultural change and foster a positive work environment
Shows cross-cultural understanding an ability to leverage diverse talents to maximize organizational productivity
Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Ability to navigate ambiguous situations and drive to decisions
