Children's Social Worker

City of Westminster, Greater London, United Kingdom Pertemps Social Care Full time
Children's Social Worker – Westminster
Ukraine Response Team (URT)
Rate: up to £37 per hour

We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK's highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.

This is a qualified role requiring you to be SWE registered and have relevant experience within children's services.
  • URT sits in the Environment & Communities Directorate and oversees the delivery of "Homes for Ukraine" programme to offer advice and support to Ukrainian nationals who arrive in Westminster to seek a place of safety and to our residents who act as their sponsors.
  • The focus of our work is to provide support and assistance to our clients in line with the Government guidance and to work closely with partner agencies to coordinate efforts and maximise support opportunities for this refugee group.
  • Your role would be to help provide an effective support service using your Social Work skills and experience in order to develop an advanced level of understanding of our refugees' needs and to help embed trauma-informed and creative approaches that could holistically address these needs and help connect our guests with the wider structures of support available within our borough.
  • As URT is not a statutory service and you will not be required to hold a caseload, your role would entail making proactive analysis of presenting issues, engaging clients to ensure that the team's objectives can be fully met and to progress relevant referrals to statutory services depending on your analysis and assessments of individual clients' needs where such specialist support may be required.
  • You will be expected to work directly with Ukrainian refugees on a daily basis to support their integration into our diverse community and to offer any support they may require. You will be involved in completing accommodation and welfare checks, offering engagement sessions and outreach support and work closely with our internal and external stakeholders.
This is an agency post and Pertemps can offer you.
  • An easy registration process (all done online)
  • Referral schemes and incentives
  • Ongoing compliance managed for you
  • Prompt and reliable payroll and lots more
Please contact Joe Thomas-Samuels on or for more information.
