Summary

As a Technology Controls Compliance Lead within the First Line of Defense for M&S Digital and Technology (D&T), you will take the lead in IT Controls Compliance and Regulatory Assurance within the D&T Risk, Audit, and Compliance function, reporting directly to the Head of Risk, Audit, and Compliance. Your role will encompass the oversight, development, implementation, testing, and monitoring of internal controls related to technology. These controls address both financial risks, such as Financial Reporting (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting, or ICFR), and non-financial risks, including Entity Level IT General Controls and Operational Resilience.

You will be responsible for identifying gaps within controls and processes, tracking trends, and documenting results in the M&S GRC (Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance) platform. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that our technology framework operates within regulatory requirements and best practice standards, maintaining the integrity and resilience of M&S's Technology systems.

To stay close to customers, our support teams are in the office three days a week as we believe that skills are developed through collaboration, and that spending time together makes us more creative and connected.

What you'll do

  • Identifying, designing and ongoing monitoring of all technology controls including ELC, ICOFR, ITGC and associated RACMs.
  • Periodic testing of IT controls to ensure effectiveness and compliance.
  • Tracking of Regulatory requirements and obligations
  • Responsible for design improvements, ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the Technology controls supporting M&S's Financial Controls Framework and RACM and other Regulatory Requirements Scope
  • Develop and document test procedures and/or document recommendations for test plan modifications that improve validation of control objectives
  • Comprehensive documentation and regular reporting on the performance of IT controls to stakeholders.

Who you are

  • Strong experience of IT Risk and technology Controls Frameworks and the application of Technology Risk best practices and Risk Standards (ISO 31000, ITIL, Cobit 5, IS27001 COSO, NIST 800-53, SOX etc)
  • Knowledge of Financial Control Framework (Internal Controls over Financial Reporting), IT General Controls, Entity Level Controls and Enterprise Risk Management
  • A track record as an experienced control practitioner in managing digital/technology controls (experience in managing Cloud and Data technology controls is highly desirable)
  • Knowledge of Compliance/Audit competencies
  • Basic understanding of technology development practices and ways of working (e.g. Waterfall, Agile, DevOps)
