Are you looking for a full time immediate position? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to become a Refuse and Cleansing Operative in Hengoed, CF82 7PG.

About Role:

Provide an effective and efficient cleansing/waste collection service for the County Borough that includes the removal of waste, detritus and bulky items from pedestrian areas, grass verges, parks, roads, pavements, wasteland, houses and public properties. It can also include street washing, undertaking yardman duties, working on Household Waste Recycling Centres, etc.

Your pay rate as a full time Refuse and Cleansing Operative:

You will get 12.18p/h.

Typical hours as a Refuse and Cleansing Operative:

You will be working from any 5 out of 7 days from 05:30am until 13:30pm.

Your role as a Refuse and Cleansing Operative:

  • Play a key role in the promotion of the service and ensure the provision of a quality, effective customer focused service.
  • Completion of cleansing rounds typically requiring litter picking, sweeping for long distances and loading heavy items of illicit tipping to vehicles.
  • Delivering a customer-focused service to all residents of the borough providing the public with information on cleansing, collection and recycling.

Our ideal candidate as a Refuse and Cleansing Operative:

  • Required to work a 37 hour week covering any duties allocated by the Supervisor, primarily on-site at any location across the county borough
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, additional hours and differing shift patterns
  • Must be able to work bank holidays and/or overtime as required
  • Must be willing to undertake a training programme or have an understanding of the training and be prepared to undertake the training if required
  • Must be trained in Manual Handling Passport Standard
  • Must be flexible and willing to undertake any other duties as directed by the Supervisor
