**Job Title**: Yard and Warehouse Operative
**Reporting To**: Warehouse Team Leader
**Key Relationships**: Shift Manager, Shift Material Handlers & Stores Operatives
**Overall Purpose**
To ensure the Yard area is organised, tidy and managed in accordance with the Yard layout - This covers stock, pallets, returnable packaging, waste management, recycling/regrinding of raw materials and any other additions to the yard as it develops.
To ensure the Regrind process of raw materials is managed in accordance with the Yard Layout and Regrind procedure. This covers processing of regrind material through machinery on site, and ensuring materials are stored in the correct locations for reuse/resale.
To support when required to ensure that Finished Goods are scanned & stored correctly, and orders are picked accurately and on time with customer demand, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail at all times.
To support when required to ensure Goods In, and Raw materials are accurately receipted into the business, GRN’s raised and stock correctly labelled, physically located and recorded on the system.
To support when required to ensure materials are prepared in the correct condition ready for issue to production in a timely manner as per the Production Plan.
**Principal Responsibilities**:
- Ensure Yard is area is kept to a high standard of housekeeping and is in line with company procedures.
- Work to develop the yard to make movements as efficient as possible - sharing these ideas with management.
- Ensure all pallets are unloaded and stored in the correct areas.
- Ensure waste management process is working as best as possible.
- Ensure reuse, resell, or waste material is segregated and labelled correctly when entering the yard.
- Ensure all reuse, resell, or waste material is organised, stored, and managed.
- Ensure regrinding of materials is carried out regularly to reduce stock in the yard.
- Ensure regrind process for specific materials is followed precisely to ensure non contamination.
- Ensure regrind area and kit is kept clean to prevent any contamination.
- Ensure all finished Goods product is scanned & stored safely and in the correct location.
- Ensure all Finished Goods orders are scanned & picked accurately and on time as per pick lists.
- Liaise with Shift Manager daily to understand the 24-hour plan.
- Ensure Material & Feed Stores, and Finished Goods areas are kept to a high standard of housekeeping.
- Ensure all Works Orders are kitted accurately and on time in line with the Production Plan.
- Ensure all packaging is kitted accurately and on time in line with the Production Plan.
- Carry out daily Stock checks as per the PI Stock check plan.
- Assisting on the shop floor when required, material feed system, Line clearance, line feeding, storing of product, break cover etc.
- Attend any required meetings, Material Action Group, Shift Handover etc.
- Working with all above ‘key relationships’ as a team to meet all targets and continually improving the business and process.
- Participate in and actively promote the company’s CIP (Continuous Improvement Program) looking for ways to continually improve the way we work and to reduce waste.
- Driving of company vehicles when required, delivering to customers and collection from suppliers.
- Adherence to the company QMS.
- Working within H&S guidelines at all times.
- Any other reasonable request from a senior member of staff.
**Salary**: £10.50-£11.00 per hour
