Practice Director (Creative Freelance), London


Reporting into the Managing Director (UK & Europe), the Practice Director owns the entirety of the Salt relationships with clients and candidates, as well as the internal and external Salt brand across the UK & Europe, in the Creative Contracts space.


Successful ownership of these relationships will be optimised through some personal contacts and the expectation of achieving a personal billing target, while also building a team of Recruiters as appropriate, to fulfil the strategic growth of this practice area at Salt.


This role has commercial responsibility for the Creative Freelance practice at Salt whilst the scope will be working with the Sales Leaders to maximise revenues.


Duties of the Practice Director include:

Develop a strategic growth plan for the Creative Practice at Salt by building a specialized team of recruiters supported by the Managing Director and Internal Recruitment team. You will do this while collaborating with Sales Leaders and the Global Head of Marketing to enhance business development in key accounts.


Responsible for executing Customer Relationship activities aligned with Salt’s KAM Strategy, as well as formulating KAM plans that meet quarterly and annual targets. There will be a focus on C-Suite hires and retained search campaigns to maximize revenue.


It's important to also provide market insights to leadership for product development, share NPS feedback with sales teams, and drive customer experience improvements. As a Practice Director, its key that you foster capability development by identifying skills gaps and mentoring team members for professional growth.


Requirements of the role


  • Leading from the front/winning business/demonstrating best of class sales activities
  • Strategic direction & KAM actions for all consultants
  • Coaching and inspiring consultants
  • Developing European strategy with MDs to achieve consistency and growth of revenue, working with our CMO to develop and strengthen our creative brand across Europe
  • Meet and surpass personal minimum billing target as well as combined practice targets.
  • Evidence of working with senior management to align sales strategies and solutions
  • Excellent hiring, training and development of consultants.
  • Conduct daily/weekly 1:1’s or scrums, monthly Universe Reviews, annual business plan reviews, etc. with Consultants in the Practice.
  • Excellent negotiation skills (average margins 20%+).
