What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the Design Process: Coordinate and manage external consultants, working closely with the architecture team to ensure every element aligns with the project’s goals.
  • Strategic Programme Management: Create, update, and monitor detailed design programmes, ensuring all project deliverables and milestones are met on time.
  • Contracts and Appointments: Assist in drafting comprehensive appointment documents, clarifying roles and responsibilities, and appointing specialist consultants for unique design elements.
  • Reporting and Monitoring: Provide regular reports on project progress, from key milestones to potential risks, ensuring the architecture team and stakeholders are fully informed at every stage.
  • Change and Risk Management: Oversee the change control process, handling design variations, consultant queries, and ensuring compliance.


Ideal Experience:

  • Leadership and Coordination: Experience managing large teams of external consultants, ensuring project goals are met with precision.
  • Programme Management: Expertise in developing and managing design programmes, tracking progress and adapting plans to meet evolving project needs.
  • Contractual Understanding: A deep knowledge of contract administration, including managing scope, appointing sub-consultants, and handling variations.
  • High-Value Project Exposure: Background in managing complex, high-pressure projects, with values in excess of £20-£40 million. International project experience highly desirable.
  • Team Leadership: Experience in leading small teams, managing resources, delegating responsibilities, and driving progress on key deliverables.
