This as an exciting and challenging position for those looking to develop their career further within sustainability. Your role within our sustainability team will be fundamental to driving the success of achieving sustainable outcomes across our diverse range of projects. You will passionately, persuasively and tactically champion sustainability on projects and throughout the practice.


This role could be either a 4 day or 5 day a week position.


Key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:


Working with colleagues and stakeholders to deliver best practicable sustainability outcomes on projects


To assist in the delivery of a leading service for colleagues and clients, you will provide support and coordination, and undertaking some administrative tasks for the Sustainability Team


Helping develop and implement the practice’s Sustainability Strategy


Researching and developing client sustainability strategies and determining how to apply these on projects – including through helping win work for the sustainability team


Helping develop new tools, processes and working methods to help our colleagues install sustainability on projects and meet our company targets, with more autonomy


Undertaking research of key topics and sharing outcomes effectively


Investigating new suppliers, techniques, tools, software, products, materials and innovations to achieve sustainable design and build


Providing colleague support in delivery of project environmental and wellbeing assessments (e.g. BREEAM, LEED, WELL & fitwel)


Assisting with producing and delivering training material to colleagues



About You:

We understand that candidates are unlikely to meet all of the following criteria. Therefore, as well as a deep passion for sustainability and design, and a desire to make positive change, the ideal candidate will have some of the following qualifications, skills, experience and knowledge – or will grow to have these within reasonable timeframes.


Qualifications and Credentials

A degree related to either architecture/ interior design, sustainable materials, engineering or sustainability/ environmental science


Knowledge of environmental design tools (e.g. Autodesk Insight, Ladybug) and how they can be applied to create sustainable outcomes


Ability to use Revit and Sketch up is desirable


Strengths and Experience

A quick, enthusiastic learner with an ability to share your knowledge effectively and passionately to stakeholders across a range of disciplines

A problem solver and innovator, with an ability to make a case for sustainability

The ability and desire to remain ahead of sustainability trends and advancements, and to communicate these effectively internally and externally

Understanding of responsibly sourced materials (and their supply chains) across their whole lifecycle

An understanding of social sustainability and inclusivity

An understanding of environmental science (e.g. carbon and water cycles and the prevention of impacts to air, water and land).
