At Perkins&Will we aspire to go above and beyond the standard definition of “sustainability,” and this new role in the Perkins&Will London studio will assist our team in breaking boundaries / making new ground in sustainability through the delivery of our multi aspect, holistic environmental approach to design in the built environment: ‘Living Design’.

By seamlessly integrating the elements we believe are key to a holistically healthy environment

**Job Summary**

You will work closely with the practice’s Sustainability Director and Project Designers to coordinate 'Living Design' practically with research and will support project specific activities such as lifecycle assessments and material assessments. The role will be based in London, but you will work with staff from other international studios. The expectation is that you will have at least a degree level of education (or equivalent) with some experience in the environmental systems and/or processes.

**Overall Responsibilities**:
**Projects**
- Collaborate with the Sustainability Director in developing an updated ‘minimum standards’ for projects, and stretch targets for each individual project.
- Review project targets and designs to track ambition and provide suggestions for improvements.
- Support project teams in undertaking assessments and review external assessments.
- Researching alternative materials and assemblies for integration into the practice’s standard element types.

**Practice Standards**
- Support the development of the practice strategy for internal standards.
- Help to coordinate the practice’s metrics and policies.
- Assist in coordinating information for ISO certification/audits.
- Support staff training in sustainability topics.

**Assist Bids and Research**
- Undertaking research as part of a team.
- Reading and summarising external content.
- Presenting, attending and contributing to meetings with external stakeholders.
- Writing reports and producing diagrams to support dissemination of our research.
