About You

As our Legal Counsel, you will play a pivotal role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating business contracts across the various verticals of our business. The Legal Counsel is responsible for ensuring that contracts are meticulously structured to mitigate risks and align with both legal standards and the company’s commercial goals.


What you’ll do

  • Draft, review and negotiate various business contracts, including but not limited to NDAs, loans, technology, lease and payment process agreements, gaming contracts, marketing and sponsorship deals as well as board resolutions.
  • Provide proactive legal advice and strategic guidance on commercial and regulatory matters.
  • Independently manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle ensuring compliance with internal policies and legal standards.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate potential legal risks in business contracts, providing practical solutions for complex issues.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to ensure contracts align with the business objectives and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple jurisdictions ensuring the legal needs of different regions are met.
  • Support the development and implementation of internal policies and processes related to contract management.
  • Liaise with external counsels to obtain relevant jurisdictional advice, particularly across Africa.
  • Support the General Counsel with various legal initiatives and ad hoc projects as required.


What we are looking for:

  • Qualified lawyer (preferably English-qualified) specialising in Commercial Law having worked within a dynamic business environment
  • A minimum of 4+ PQ experience
  • Experience working across the African continent is highly advantageous
  • Strong preference for written and spoken French
  • Strong understanding of business contract terms and associated risks
  • Strong ability to translate complex legal issues into clear, actionable advice for business stakeholders
  • Ability to challenge assumptions and ask critical questions to ensure robust contract negotiation
  • Strong command of contract drafting, negotiation, and review particularly in cross border-transactions
  • Outstanding communication skills
