Director of Accounting and Strategy - Up to £130k + 30% Bonus - London (3 days a week)


My client is a large multi-national Technology business that is looking for a a high performing Finance Leader to manage a team of 3 in a varied role within a fast-paced sector.


Key accountabilities and decision ownership:


Valuation

  • Run market valuation exercise on a quarterly basis with the support of external advisors (i.e. banks and investor relations advisors).
  • Obtain market insights on key valuation matters and provide regular updates to key stakeholders.
  • Partner with the FP&A team to ensure the three-year and ten-year financial plan remain up-to-date and reflective of current performance.
  • Partner with other experts, including Tax and Treasury, to ensure key matters are reflected in market valuation output.


Corporate finance advisory

  • Provide recommendations to key stakeholders with respect to the corporate finance agenda, using insight from valuation and leverage and capacity analysis.
  • Play a lead role in delivering share buyback and share repurchase programmes.
  • Provide recommendations with respect to dividend growth.
  • Write papers, up to board level, with respect to corporate finance advisory.


Working capital reporting and cash flow forecasting

  • Lead the monthly management reporting and analysis activities specific to cash flow and working capital movements.
  • Lead the group’s rolling cash flow forecasting cycle in partnership with FP&A who operate the income statement forecasting cycle. Provide insight to finance leadership and key stakeholders as an output.
  • Continuous improvement of working capital management and cash flow forecasting.


Goodwill impairment testing, going concern and viability reporting

  • Lead the accounting and reporting requirements over goodwill impairment testing, going concern and viability reporting – a basic understanding of these topics is expected.
  • Partner with key stakeholders and advisors to support the compilation of materials to support the Group’s going concern and viability statement.


M&A project work

  • Support with due diligence process on M&A deals by being the due diligence lead from a financial accounting, reporting and control perspective.
  • Manage third party valuers for the valuation of acquired businesses (knowledge of valuation principles is a plus). Be responsible for the preparation and review purchase price allocations and write summary papers for the board.
  • Provide support and input to the integration team to support with the integration of acquired businesses from a finance perspective.


Line management

This role involves the line management of a team of up to three team members, therefore previous managerial experience is important.
