Role Overview:


The role is to support the Trading team and act as the first point of call for any market risk and trade support matters. Responsibilities from a Trade Support perspective include monitoring and communicating positions, settlement risks, Corporate Actions news gathering and circulation and identifying where there may be potential losses. Operational responsibilities include monitoring and communicating unsettled trades.


Please note that this is an office based role and the hours are 7.30am - 5.30pm.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Act as the first point of contact for trade related queries from the Trading desk
  • Risk reporting: ensure market risk reports have been generated and that breaches match previous night’s breaches
  • Risk monitoring: ensure appropriate situations are communicated to the trading team in a timely manner.
  • Consuming the morning note to then identify which RNS announcement to highlight to traders
  • Monitoring intraday positions that are close to breaching a limit and identifying if it could be around a working order, or investigating further as appropriate
  • Monitoring single stock losses; understanding what could be causing it, liaising with the relevant Trader/Head of Trading to ensure a plan of action is in place to mitigate further losses
  • Following the risk framework with regards to breaches and ensure approvals are received, ensure trading systems are utilising reconciled information and that all operational procedures and risk controls are set
  • Monitoring MMLT book positions, funding positions, extended settlement, settlement buy-ins and counterparty exposures
  • Monitoring and reviewing counterparty risk classifications and updating as per the firms policy
  • Remain abreast of regulatory news and market intelligence concerning the firms counterparties
