Business Development Manager

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager Contract Logistics UK which will focus on developing the business of Contract Logistics within the assigned region across all verticals, focusing on new clients. Being part of a UK sales team, the Business Development Manager Contract Logistics UK will be responsible for meeting and exceeding all budgeted sales goals without exceeding the approved selling expense budget as well as supporting the wider team on larger complex opportunities.
About the role:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive plan for the respective product for new opportunities and expanding business
- Generate effective leads and opportunities
- Meet and exceed financial growth targets for the assigned product and expand our solutions offering
- Identifies and develops relationships with key decision makers at all levels within an customer
- Maintain understanding of customers’ expectations relative to operational solutions, costs and results
- Understands the customer's business (strategically, operationally, financially)
- Understands the customer's buying process and identify all influences, intimately understanding their requirements
- Maintains an up-to-date pipeline of current and future opportunities, quantifying number of opportunities, value of the opportunity and managing the probability to win
- Coordinate RFQs for new business opportunities and renewals of existing business with customers engaging other functions as required and own the commercial relationship and contract negotiations with customer
- Follow the internal commercial process, procedures and thresholds
- Foster a close cooperation between Sales, Account Management, Operations, Operational Excellence and all other functions (IT, HR, Finance, etc.)
- Partners with colleagues in other regions on broader opportunities for select customers
- Act as an ambassador for DP World at all times when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies
Your key skills:
- Degree or equivalent in business administration or transport/logistics
- Proven track record of having consistently achieved on a sales quota at a relevant scale
- Minimum >5 years’ experience within the logistics industry ideally within account management
- Experience in senior level account management or sales within a Contract Logistics environment
- Commercial experience either through customer or direct P&L
- Experience in Contract Logistics Industry
- Exposure to and working knowledge of all facets of contractual requirements
