An esteemed FTSE250 Financial Services firm is currently seeking an Assistant Company Secretary to join their dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the company adheres to statutory and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the Company Secretary, providing essential support in managing board meetings, maintaining statutory records, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance standards.


The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of corporate law and governance, coupled with exceptional organisational skills. Previous experience in a similar role within a company operating within either the listed sector or the Financial Services sector is a necessity. A Chartered Governance Institute qualification (ICSA) or working towards it will be advantageous.


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Board and Committee servicing, administration and production of minutes, and in particular (but not exclusively) the Group Risk Committee (GRC) and the regulated entity boards.
  • Taking responsibility for certain sections of the Annual Report & Accounts and oversee collation of information by more junior members of the team.
  • In conjunction with the Company Secretariat Assistant, ensure successful delivery of the AGM.
  • Leading the annual subsidiary accounts process for the UK regulated and other subsidiary entities
  • Share Schemes work
  • Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a source of information and effectively managing queries and raising the profile of the function and drive forward best practice in governance and company secretarial processes
