Medway Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Work Team Manager to lead their 16+ Team in children's services. Offering a competitive salary of up to £52,959 per annum, plus an additional £7,000 market premia and a £3,000 annual retention payment after one year’s service, this is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of young people transitioning to adulthood.
About the Role:
As the Team Manager of the 16+ Team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting young people aged 16 and over as they prepare for independence. You will lead a team of passionate social workers, ensuring that high-quality services are delivered to meet the unique needs of these young individuals. Your leadership will be key in promoting positive outcomes and helping young people achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the 16+ Team, providing supervision, guidance, and support to social workers.

Oversee the assessment, planning, and delivery of services to young people aged 16 and over.

Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, safeguarding policies, and best practice standards.

Develop and maintain effective partnerships with other agencies and service providers.

Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the team.
Requirements:
Qualified social worker with extensive experience in children's services, particularly in working with young people aged 16+.

Social Work England registered.

Proven track record of team management and leadership.

In-depth understanding of legislation, policies, and best practices related to children's services and young people.

Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

Commitment to achieving the best outcomes for young people.
