POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated Support Coach to become a vital member of our Medway Supported Accommodation team. This role involves providing essential support to approximately 52 residents across various services aimed at assisting single homeless individuals and ex-offenders. While the primary focus will be on residents in Chatham, flexibility to support those in Rochester is also required as service demands fluctuate.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your contributions will be crucial in facilitating successful rehabilitation and reintegration for our residents into the community. This includes offering pathways, support, and tailored interventions to ensure effective resettlement.

WORK SCHEDULE

This position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, typically from Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional flexibility needed.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering high-quality care and support. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative environment but is also capable of making independent, proactive decisions. You should possess the confidence to work effectively in this setting, demonstrating compassion, support, and empowerment to residents while building positive and motivational relationships.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with individuals from complex backgrounds, including ex-offenders, those with mental health challenges, substance misuse issues, or a solid understanding of the sector.
  • Proficiency in IT, with the ability to learn new software and basic experience in Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge and/or practical application of key legislation related to social care, housing, criminal justice, and mental health.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience collaborating with various agencies and understanding a multi-disciplinary approach.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as NVQ/Diploma Level 2 in Community Justice/Psychology or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing housing support and practical assistance in either residential or outreach settings.
