Site Operations Manager

Great opportunity to work for a Manufacturing business, and leader within its field, and play a key role in ensuring operational eminence, whilst being given a remit to further develop and futureproof the site.
Duties
* Take full responsibility for the site encompassing personnel, budgeting, safe systems of work, maintenance and the CAPEX development of the site.
* Manage a programme of production process improvements to enable increased efficiency.
* Manage the production plan, ensuring the Labour and raw materials are available to deliver the plan.
* Oversee and facilitate increasing processing volumes within batching, mixing and production.
* Ensure the plant runs effectively and efficiency, whilst meeting Health & Safety and Environmental regulations.
* Maintain productive working relations with colleagues within Transport, Compliance, Production, Quality, H&S.
* Maintain productive working relations with external contacts such as regulatory authorities, contractors, customers, suppliers.
* Oversee the intake and sampling analysis of incoming raw materials, and its onward movement through the production process.
* Ensure that outgoing products meet the specification agreed with the customer.
* Carryout H&S audits, reduce risks, ensure compliance with all regulations.
* Production of weekly reports demonstrating output, costs, profit, compliance, safety.
* Take part in a remote-weekly site managers meeting with other site managers.
* Build a register of trusted Contractors, manage Contractors on site, ensure the Contractor code of practice is fit for purpose.
* Oversee the Engineering function, ensuring work completed by Engineers is of a high standard.
* Make the case for CAPEX investment into the site, and once approved Project Manage CAPEX investment.
* Ensure the technical competence of the Shift Production teams, advocating training where skills gaps exist.
The Person
* The individual appointed will inherit a well-established production site with a settled team and there will also be the possibility of taking on responsibility for a second site.
* As the company are expanding and considering further acquisitions, the prospects for promotion are good.
* This role reports into a Director based at another site, who will give the Site Manager the space and autonomy to manage the site as they see fit, with the Director visiting once a month for a site meeting.
* The Site Manager will enjoy close contact and support from other Site Managers which includes weekly site managers meetings and regular social meet ups.
* Experience working in a regulated industry where Health & Safety is paramount is expected and knowledge of Bulk Handling Equipment would be beneficial.
* Applicants are expected to be reliable, trustworthy, hardworking, and able to work under minimal direction and supervision.
* Applicants are expected to have experience in a role such as: Site Manager, Factory Manager, Plant Manager, Production Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Process Manager, Operations Manager.
* Applicants are expected to have experience in an industry such as: Food Manufacturing, Chemical Processing, Waste Processing, Milling, Mining, Agriculture, Waste Water, Recycling, Paper and Packaging, Petroleum Refining.
The Package
* Salary £50,000 pa - £54,000 pa
* Bonus Scheme (circa £5000-£6000)
