In a nutshell

Join us as a Finance Analyst - Loyalty Accounting, you will be responsible for providing accurate and timely information and reporting that will support effective decision making across the joint business between Virgin Atlantic (VA) and Virgin Red (VR). This will be achieved by being an expert user on operational and reporting systems whilst having a clear understanding of the commercial issues, financial processes, risks and controls affecting Flying Club and the wider Virgin Red loyalty ecosystem.

The role will provide, review, report and analyze information to provide useful insight and business-based responses which may include recommendations and suggestions for improvements. You will facilitate seamless exchange of accurate complete information to stakeholders to ensure correct accounting, invoicing, budgeting, and forecasting across both VA and VR.

Day to day

  • Accountable for completing accounting journals and balance sheet reconciliations, investigating where variances occur, and providing supplementary analysis.
  • Ensure that controls and processes are captured to meet audit standards highlighting risks and inconsistencies to management.
  • Ensure controls around reporting and metrics operate effectively and that all output is checked to ensure it of the highest quality.
  • Be a key contact to support stakeholders across the loyalty proposition, both internally and externally.
  • Work with the wider finance teams to action any opportunities for automation and ensure efficiency improvements are pushed through to delivery.
  • Be a loyalty system and process subject matter expert, advising and inputting into any commercial or business changes to ensure all systems changes are implemented such that finance processes continue to provide accurate and timely information.
  • Continue to build and improve understanding of the loyalty ecosystem and commercial proposition.
  • Review information and trends to ensure that the output of processes achieve the desired results.

About you

  • Demonstrable experience within similar accounting role analyzing and interpreting data with both short term and long-term view. With evidence of driving accuracy and completeness in reporting, identify issues and risks to management whilst leading the recommendations to resolve.
  • Ability to prioritize work, work under pressure and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills to enable collaborative working at all levels.
  • Excellent data analysis skills using available tools including MS Office skills with an ability to manipulate large volumes of data in Excel and draw conclusions (such as Power BI, Power Automate, Power Query).
  • Good systems and process knowledge (experience with TM1/RPA/Oracle an advantage).
  • Qualified or partially qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA).
