About the role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant specializing in Autism Spectrum Disorder (Non-Verbal), you will play a crucial role in supporting students across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. Your primary focus will be on non-verbal students, helping them navigate their daily routines and engaging with them through tailored communication methods. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalised learning plans, ensuring that each child receives the support they need to succeed.

Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), specifically non-verbal.
• A deep understanding of SEN and the challenges faced by non-verbal students.
• A passion for making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one and small group support to non-verbal students with ASD, helping them to engage with their learning environment.
• Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs.
• Utilise alternative communication methods, such as Makaton or PECS, to facilitate effective communication with non-verbal students.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
• Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
