NHS Property Services enables excellent patient care by acting as a trusted advisor to the NHS and by providing the best estate solutions.
We manage 2,700 properties with 6,300 customers across England, which accounts for approximately 10% of the total NHS estate. Our properties range from listed buildings to new integrated care centres and include hospitals, GP practices and offices.
The Learning & Development Advisor has a key role to play in contributing to the strategic People agenda at NHSPS. The remit of this role is to contribute to the success of NHSPS by supporting the Learning and Development Business Partner to deliver the L&D plan and strategy supporting and partnering with the wider business to develop skills and capabilities of our people.
What you will do
Understanding learning needs and priorities and collaborating with stakeholders to put in place appropriate solutions.
Work closely with all areas of the business, including senior teams and People Business Partners, to identify and meet learning development needs.
Support end to end L&D activities including needs analysis, design, and delivery.
Plan and support learning and development activity to all NHSPS colleagues.
Deliver training solutions through a range of blended methodologies, including virtual training, face-to-face training, online content and other blended solutions.
Provide guidance and delivery support to internal customers from across the business, putting customers at the heart of everything you do.
Support wider activity as required including leadership, management and culture change activity.
Lead key projects to support NHSPS strategy, and support the wider training team with their projects as required.
Understand the back-end use of our learning management system (LMS) to ensure training is held centrally and easily accessible to all.
Use the LMS to set up courses, reports, manage learning content, support performance workflows, and maintain data accurately.
Bring a continuous improvement mindset to L&D activities, ensuring training and all policies and processes are adding value, clear, up to date and accessible.
Liaise with external third-party suppliers as required.
Manage and optimise relationships with suppliers and professional bodies, ensuring cost effective five-star delivery and development of new programmes to meet team needs as well as individual professional development needs.
Work with colleagues across functional areas to support, influence and design learning interventions.
Collaborate with colleagues as required to provide fit-for-purpose solutions, including Digital Learning Designers and the wider People Team.
Coordinate, plan and schedule learning and development activity to ensure customer needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.
Use analytics to ensure value-add of key projects and L&D activity can be measured.
Who you are
You will bring knowledge of training design and delivery and an understanding of different learning methodologies
You will demonstrate an understanding of how to assess learning needs, create learning plans, and deliver learning interventions for individuals and teams' development
A proficiency in Learning Management Systems and their use
A curiosity or knowledge of people development and adult learning theories
You will have contributed towards an L&D or People strategy
You will have planned and delivered workshop and training content Experience of scheduling and developing short and long-term training plans (both remote and in person)
You will have excellent stakeholder management, including external providers/suppliers and the ability to influence
CIPD level 3 or equivalent, vocational or professional qualification, equivalent professional experience is ideal
Experience working in a Facilities Management industry with high volume customer facing roles and/or a leadership development and change project is desirable
Throughout the above you will demonstrate effective communication and presentation skills, planning and organisational skills and attention to detail.
You will take initiative and consistently drive for improvement and high-quality. You will inspire confidence and empower others to achieve personal and organisational goals by role modelling appropriate values and behaviours.
Where you'll be
We have a hybrid model, there will be travel involved with this specific role and this role requires regular presence in our London office.
