About the role Thrive on deadlines? Come and be our Media Officer. As our Media Officer, you'll be the primary point of contact for most of our daily media enquiries. You'll support the team in disseminating news and media coverage about CCC via all key communications channels. Working within our highly regarded PR and Media team, you will produce external-facing content for media, our news website, as well as various other platforms (e.g. blogs and social media). You will be responsible for developing updates and impact reports on news issues for councillors and officers, and responding to requests from local, regional, national and trade media, as well as arranging interviews and media training for CCC spokespeople. About you To do this job you'll need experience of working in a busy press office environment, both in normal working hours and out of hours. You'll understand the workings of external media (print, broadcast, online and social) and working to deadlines. You’ll have experience of using media and web content management systems, social media platforms, as well as using image editing software. You’ll need the ability to spot a good story, convey a subject matter concisely and in a compelling way to a wide range of audiences. This will include, strong writing skills, and the ability to communicate appropriately and effectively in person. You’ll be able to establish priorities and manage multiple activities to meet organisational priorities.
