About the role:
We seek a dedicated Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant (TA) specialising in Special Educational Needs (SEN) to join our dynamic team. This part-time role, offering a competitive daily rate of £85-£100, has become available due to an increase in our SEN student intake, necessitating additional support to maintain our high standards of individualised education. As a Key Stage 2 TA (SEN), you will work closely with SEN students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, providing essential support to help them thrive academically and socially. You will join a class of around 25-30 students, where your role will be pivotal in ensuring that all children, especially those with additional needs, receive the attention and assistance they require. This role stands out due to the strong support network within the school, our modern teaching environment, and the chance to make a tangible difference in students’ lives.
Application Requirements:
• Previous experience working with SEN students, preferably within a primary school setting.
• A compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• The ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Providing 1:1 and small group support to SEN students, ensuring they can access the curriculum effectively.
• Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored interventions and support plans.
• Monitoring and recording students’ progress, adapting support strategies as needed.
• Supporting the development of social and communication skills through structured activities and unstructured interactions.
