StraightLine Civils are looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a background in heavy civils to start on a HS2 site in Carlisle.

Responsibilities: (includes but not limited to)

  • Preparation of project financial reports
  • Preparing bill of quantities budgeting and cost control for projects
  • Working closely with our engineer & accounts for measuring works on site & submission of monthly valuations
  • Managing and negotiating with clients suppliers and subcontractors
  • Handle contracts meticulously to ensure the company is safeguarded in respect of contractual notifications progress cost quality etc
  • Working closely with managers to ensure financial goals are met
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the heavy civils industry
  • Experience with New Engineering Contracts (NEC)
  • Experience working with bridges and reinforced concrete
  • Relevant professional qualifications in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong knowledge of heavy civils processes and industry best practices
  • Excellent negotiation and communication ss
  • Excellent numeracy & IT ss including competence in relevant software applications (Bluebeam/CAD/excel etc.)
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Valid driving licence

The job is a permanent sitebased position starting in Carlisle.

The salary is 5055k per annum and will include a company car. This salary is negotiable/dependent on experience.
