Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Project Manager/Contracts Manager to oversee a major design and complete build in Cambridge. This permanent role will involve managing electrical installations and ensuring the project is delivered to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee and manage all electrical aspects of the major design and complete build project.
Ensure the project is completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules and ensure milestones are achieved.
Technical Oversight:
Supervise the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical systems.
Ensure all electrical work complies with industry standards and regulations.
Resolve any technical issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Contract Management:
Manage day-to-day operations on-site, coordinating with subcontractors and suppliers.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and ensure quality control.
Implement and enforce health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments as needed.
Client and Stakeholder Communication:
Serve as the primary contact for electrical aspects of the project, liaising with clients and stakeholders.
Attend project meetings and provide updates on progress and any issues encountered.
Ensure client requirements and specifications are met and exceeded.
Progress Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of project progress, including daily logs, site reports, and quality assurance documentation.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the Project Manager and senior management.
Career Development:
The role provides a clear path for progression to Project Manager, with opportunities for professional growth within the company.Qualifications and Experience:
Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager or Contracts Manager, particularly in large-scale commercial projects.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation practices, and project management.
Relevant qualifications in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
Relevant certifications in City & Guilds Electrical Engineering along with health and safety practices (e.g., NEBOSH, SSSTS/SMSTS) are preferred.Additional Information:
