Global Head of Data & Insights

MacGregor Black is currently partnering with a Leading Consumer Electronics Business, on the search for a Global Head of Data & Insights. This is a permanent role based in London.


As the Global Head of Data & Insights , you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of data-driven strategies to enhance business performance and customer experience within the Consumer Electronics industry. You will oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to drive actionable insights across various business functions, including sales, marketing, product development, and customer service.


Reporting directly to the C-Suite, you will play a crucial role in defining strategic roadmaps for global markets, identifying opportunities for improvement, liaising with senior 3rd-party stakeholders, forecasting products timelines, and pushing digital transformation globally and analytical innovation across the business.


Key Responsibilities


  • Strategic Leadership: Formulate and implement a holistic data and insights strategy that aligns closely with the overarching business goals. Foster a culture of innovation and ongoing enhancement in data analytics and insights methodologies.
  • Data Management: Direct the acquisition, integration, and administration of data, ensuring its integrity, precision, and security. Enforce leading-edge data governance practices and ensure adherence to regulatory standards working closely with the CSO.
  • Analytics and Insights: Guide a team of data scientists, analysts, and insights specialists in conducting advanced analytics, predictive modelling, and data excavation to reveal actionable insights and growth opportunities.
  • Business Intelligence: Collaborate across functional teams to pinpoint crucial performance indicators, create dashboards and reports, and furnish timely and pertinent insights to facilitate decision-making at all organizational levels.
  • Market Research: Stay abreast of industry dynamics, consumer trends, and competitive landscapes via diligent market research and analysis. Harness external data sources and market intelligence to inform strategic initiatives and product advancement.
  • Customer Experience Enhancement: Utilize data-driven insights to enrich the customer journey, personalize marketing endeavours, and refine product functionalities to augment user satisfaction.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Effectively communicate discoveries and recommendations to senior leadership and key stakeholders, distilling intricate data concepts into actionable insights and business implications.
  • Team Empowerment: Nurture a culture of data-centric decision-making and continual learning within the data and insights team. Provide mentorship, direction, and avenues for professional growth to team members.


What are we looking for?


  • Proven experience (7+ years) in a leadership role overseeing data and insights functions, preferably in the Consumer Electronics or related industry.
  • Strong technical proficiency in data analytics tools and technologies (SQL, Python, Tableau, Power BI) and experience with data warehousing and business intelligence platforms.
  • Deep understanding of data management principles, data governance frameworks, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, product management, and IT.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive results, and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
