The Recpool Group is currently working with a North West based financial/payroll sector specialist, who, following a phase of expansion, now have the need to add a fulltime Management Accountant to the successful team working from their newly opened offices in Liverpool city centre.
The ideal candidate would be someone who is currently working as an accountant and reached the stage of their career where they have the experience and skills to take on a new role but no opportunity for promotion at their current employer, OR, someone who is currently working as a management accountant within a small team and is ready for a fresh challenge to utilise their skills and grab this opportunity to become a prominent team member within an amazing growing business.
Responsibilities:
As a Management Accountant, the key responsibilities are (but not limited to):
* Preparation of monthly management accounts and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts.
* Review controls and processes, making improvements where necessary
* Provide support to the wider finance team.
* Prepare and distribute weekly P&L reports for all business units.
* Liaise with the divisional leads to ensure costs are accurately reflected and allocated to respective business units.
* Provide clear and relevant supplementary reports on analytical variances as required.
* Ensure the quality control of financial transactions processed.
* Support the management team in documenting business processes in order to maintain and strengthen internal controls across the Group.
* Support the company Directors by providing information for cashflow forecasting purposes.
* Produce regular business reports.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Applicants must have at least 2 years recent experience working as an accountatnt or Management Accountant and will have had exposure to as much of the below required skills as possible.
* Degree in finance, Accounting or related field (or in the process of completing one).
* Minimum AAT level 3 qualification or similar.
* Have a broad financial management background with the ability to provide incisive, user-friendly management information and meaningful financial analysis.
* Have a strong track record of producing accurate management accounts and detailed balance sheet reconciliations within tight deadlines.
* Positive communication skills, providing advice and information to senior colleagues.
* A high attention to detail, providing accurate, timely reporting.
* Excellent numeric, verbal and written communication and presentation skills
* Experience in a similar role is essential.
* Great communication skills to support Stakeholders / Budget Holders / Auditors / Transactional Teams.
