Purpose of role


To be the day-to-day finance lead for Pelsis Newport.


Responsibilities


Management Accounts

  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Production of monthly financial accounts pack to include a profit and loss, balance sheet and cash score card for reporting deadlines.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.


Forecasting and Budgeting

  • Partner with the business to assist in the production of the Annual Budget and monthly forecasting.
  • Collaborate in the design of budget holder reviews using analysis of actuals vs budget with stakeholder requirements and feedback.
  • Producing weekly 13-week cash forecast for entity


Monthly Reporting

You will be comfortable working to short month end deadlines, as well as regular external reporting requirements.

  • Submitting accurate monthly accounts to Group Finance that have been fully reviewed.
  • Providing detailed commentary to Regional General Managers to assist their understanding of the monthly financial performance.
  • Meet external reporting requirements for the business, including VAT, EC Sales, ONS surveys.


Other

  • Work closely with Pelsis’ group auditors to play a key role in seeing the smooth completion of annual financial audits.
  • Ad hoc support to the Group Finance team as and when required.
  • Ad hoc support and partnering with the Regional GM and wider business as and when required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and support cross-functional initiatives.


Ad hoc Support

Provide support to the Site Management Teams, VP Operations and Business Excellence and Operations Finance Business Partner


Candidate requirements


To succeed in this role you will be in, or have experience of, a similar role and the view to progress, studying towards an Accountancy qualification with a strong background in purchase ledger within a fast-paced working environment.


You must:

  • Be able to work in a confident and professional manner.
  • Have a sound understanding of basic accounting techniques.
  • Have the ability to work productively and flexibly under pressure to meet tight deadlines, especially at month end.
  • Have strong communication skills to be able to work with colleagues and external parties regarding financial matters.
  • Be a self-starter who wishes to take ownership of the role and can suggest areas of development to create greater efficiencies within the role.
  • Be confident in the use of MS Excel to organize and analyse data


Having experience of using SAP Business One, Navision or Microsoft AX would be valued, but not deemed a necessity.
