We are currently looking for a part-time cook to join our client on part-time permanent basis.
Offering an hourly pay rate of £13 per hour/£16,224
The hours will be upto 24 hours per week, weekend availability is required.
To work within a care home, you must hold an enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months.
What will be required for the cook/chef role?
1. Preparation of nutritious meals for residents and staff
2. Making sure all food is cooked and stored at a safe temperature
3. Keeping working area clean and tidy
4. Preparation of desserts and puddings
5. Ordering stock for meals
6. Cleaning cooker tops, ovens, microwaves, fryers and prep sinks daily as part of closedown
7. Working with entertainment staff for the planning of special days and functions
Other shared duties for the role:
* Dish and pot washing duties
* Putting away deliveries
* Vegetable preparation
* Empty kitchen bins
* Bushing and mopping kitchen floor
* Ensuring all hand contact surfaces are wiped and sanitized at the end of each shift
* Defrosting the freezers
* Cleaning of fan oven
* Emptying and cleaning fryers
* Stock rotation
* Checking date labels for out of date stock and disposing of products if necessary
About you:
* Previous experience in a care home preferable, or working in a large establishment
* Level 3 food hygiene
* Experience of allergens
* Food Orders
* Dealing with Budgets
* Previous rota experience and team management
* Environmental health knowledge
