Job Overview:
- Reporting to Operations Manager
- Permanent, part time 8 hours per day on a rota basis (to be worked with other trained kitchen staff members)
- Weekend availability and evenings if required
- Winter Opening 8am - 4pm (end of British summertime)
- Summer - 8am - 7pm. Potential for later opening for events, drinks/food evenings etc
Salary - £30,000 per annum FTE
£18,432 (Part-time, based on 4 days) **OR** £13,874 (Part-time, based on 3 days)
**Duties**:
- Kitchen management, food preparation and planning.
- Menu planning and promotion alongside the Operations Manager.
- Introduce a stock control system to monitor and reduce waste.
- Business planning and budget setting in line with Operations Manager and business requirements.
- To be accountable for setting a catering budget, prices, margins.
- Monitor and report to the Operations Manager & Business Directors/Owners on F&B revenue and performance.
- Day to day duties: washing, peeling and preparing food ingredients, using equipment such as mixers, special knives and cutters, reviewing kitchen inventory and determining what items are needed, unloading fresh supplies and organising the stockroom, checking sell-by dates and rotating food stock, cleaning kitchen appliances, ovens, dishes and pans. Observing cooking times and correct temperatures.
- Assist in marketing and promotion of the food and beverage facility at the golf course.
- Provide a vital communication link with the Operations Manager in relation to menu planning for events, golf matches, golf society bookings and functions.
- Responsibility for food safety legislation and compliance.
- Flexible, hands-on approach to all aspects of work and undertake further duties as required.
- Customer service excellence.
- Maintain the Acorns brand and reputation
**Experience**:
- Previous experience in catering, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and presentation
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in helping with event catering
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: £12.00-£14.00 per hour
Expected hours: 24 - 32 per week
