Due to promotion off-island, our tumuaki is leaving and Kaingaroa School community on the Chatham Islands are seeking an interim Principal to lead the school and community.

This is an interim principal role, from the start of term 3, 2024 to the end of term 4, 2024. While the BOT would like someone for two terms, an exceptional candidate may be considered for one term only.

The ideal candidate will be a relational, grounded, and experienced educator and leader who can confidently support our school community and current roll of one to plan for our future while delivering teaching and learning through our rich place-based curriculum.

You will be a number-8 wire kind of person, a natural with networking, and someone who will proactively develop and nurture inter-school relationships with your island colleagues and whānau. You will competently navigate the ins and outs of school management and leadership, and will have excellent listening and leading skills; effectively leading community consultation and school-wide planning.

This is a bucket list opportunity that will be stimulating, challenging, and life-changing.
