About Us: My client is a leading provider of forklift and materials handling solutions in the Greater London area. With a reputation for excellence in sales, rentals, servicing, and repairs, they are committed to delivering high-quality products and services to our diverse client base. They are currently seeking a skilled and dedicated Forklift Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of forklift models and materials handling equipment.
* Inspection and Testing: Conduct thorough inspections and safety checks to ensure all equipment meets regulatory standards and operates efficiently.
* Field Service: Provide on-site service and repairs at customer locations, offering professional and timely solutions to minimize downtime.
* Technical Support: Assist customers with technical queries and provide expert advice on equipment usage and maintenance best practices.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all service and repair work, including parts used and work completed.
* Inventory Management: Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure availability of necessary components.
* Customer Service: Deliver exceptional customer service, maintaining positive relationships with clients through effective communication and professional conduct.
* Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
* Education: Minimum of GCSEs in Mathematics, English, and Science (Grades 9-4/A*-C). Vocational qualifications such as NVQ/SVQ in Engineering Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or Vehicle Maintenance and Repair are preferred.
* Experience: Proven experience in forklift maintenance and repair or a related mechanical/engineering role. Apprenticeship training is highly valued.
* Technical Skills: Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. Familiarity with hydraulic systems and computerized diagnostic tools.
* Certifications: Relevant certifications from recognized bodies (e.g., Institute of the Motor Industry - IMI) are advantageous. Forklift operator license from RTITB or ITSSAR is beneficial.
* Driving License: Valid UK driving license is essential for field service duties.
