Gleeson Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting our long standing FTSE 100 listed client in their search to recruit a Lead Financial Reporting Accountant. Best suited to a technically confident, qualified accountant looking to join an industry leading controllership team and progress into a more commercial role.

The successful candidate will be based out of the Warwick office a couple of days per week with some flexibility and offered a salary up to £55,000 depending on experience, plus an extensive benefits package. This role sits between Controllership and Finance Business Partners, so it's key you can liaise with senior finance and non finance stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have great working knowledge of IFRS standards and Sox experience would be super We're keen to hear from candidates from both practice and industry backgrounds who are looking to join a high performing finance team and fast-track their progression.

What You'll Do:nResponsible for sound technical accounting guidance and support for the business - including complex areas of accounting and reporting.nOversee the implementation of new accounting requirements such as accounting standards, reporting requirements and disclosures. Ensuring that the business remains up to date and compliant and is demonstrating best practice.nAct as a key contact with the external auditors, presenting the business’ position, findings and associated technical arguments.nMaintain key accounting policies and judgements for the business.nSupport the completeness, integrity and accuracy of the external financial statements and assist with the overall UK statutory reporting process working with the CFO, Lead Controller and shared service centrenSupport the delivery of month end, half year and year end financial statements and disclosures, including any investigations and analysis of variances.

About You:nQualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA) with Financial statement reporting preparation of Statutory Accounts and technical accounting principles (IFRS) experience.nExperience performing accounting research, you can interpret and relate changes quickly and prep technical accounting papers.nAbility to prepare and articulate complex financial topics and disclosures to the external accountants.nTeam player, always willing to support the team and provide input to develop a comprehensive and consistent view of the financial position of the Business for Financial ReportingnCommercial and technical acumennKnowledge of governance, risk and controls and compliance standards, ideally SOxnAble to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including internal and external auditors.
