We are looking for a Head of Financial Reporting who can turn challenges into opportunities Your primary focus will be on ensuring a robust financial control environment through timely period end closing, the production of quality financial statements and ensuring strict adherence to relevant accounting and auditing standards.

As a linchpin between various business units, you'll play a pivotal role in keeping the organisation informed about current reporting requirements for new initiatives.

The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship across the business in Financial Reporting, overseeing compliance with financial and accounting standards, statutory accounts production, and ownership of IFRS16 accounting.
  • Manage the control framework, ensuring the compilation and maintenance of strong operating controls to mitigate key risks.
  • Oversee financial accounting, including monthend reporting, inventory accounting, and fixed assets register maintenance.
  • Manage external audit relationships across UK, ROI, and Benelux geographies.
  • Lead adhoc projects, including Finance Transformation and Entity rationalisation, focusing on financial control elements.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve finance controls, processes, and systems to enhance the overall control environment.
  • Collaborate with other departments and senior management to align financial control processes with business objectives.

Location:
This role is based in Nuneaton, with a requirement to attend the office twice per week.

The Person:

Key Requirements:

  • Prior experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably within a retail or related industry
  • Indepth knowledge of financial reporting, consolidation processes, financial controls frameworks, risk management, tax, treasury, and system/process assessment, ideally in a retail context.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, inspiring and developing a highperforming team.
  • Excellent communication skills, effectively conveying complex financial concepts to both financial and nonfinancial stakeholders.
  • Ability to develop and execute financial strategies aligned with longterm organisational goals.
  • Sound business judgment and decisionmaking aligned with organisational goals.
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to foster growth and development within the finance department.
