We are seeking a dedicated Independent Living Scheme Officer to join our team and make a real difference in the lives of our customers.
As an Independent Living Scheme Officer, you will play a crucial role in helping to build communities by encouraging engagement and reducing social isolation. You’ll provide an enhanced housing management service to older people, over the age of 55, living in our specialist Independent Living housing. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure our schemes are managed and maintained effectively, all while empowering our customers to preserve their independence and quality of life.
You’ll maintain a regular on-site presence, being readily available to our customers and conducting agreed-upon visits or contacts. You'll be instrumental in welcoming new residents, familiarising them with our facilities and service standards, and completing personalised independent living reviews to ensure our customers are thriving in their homes.
In this role, you'll conduct monthly inspections, manage maintenance issues, and collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver comprehensive services. You'll oversee assistive technology systems, TV licensing, guestrooms, and communal areas while implementing safe working practices. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently, maintaining accurate records and using your initiative to support residents' needs effectively.
This role is permanent, full-time working 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, and subject to an enhanced DBS check. You’ll support customers in Patchway, Little Stoke and Stoke Gifford. A full UK driving licence is required as you may need to support other schemes from time to time.
The ideal candidate will be:
* Experienced working with older people, over 55, in a customer-focused setting
* Familiar with relevant policies and procedures
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
* Knowledgeable of safeguarding, health and safety, and excellent communication skills
* Empathetic, patient, and committed to improving residents' lives
* A proactive problem-solver, able to work independently and collaboratively
* A holder of a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle
* A great ambassador for Bromford.
