About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our team in Chatham, Kent. This rewarding role involves supporting secondary-aged students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. All our students have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) and exhibit extremely challenging behaviour.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, helping them to engage with their learning and development.
Work closely with teaching staff to implement individualised education plans and behavioural strategies.
Manage and respond to challenging behaviour in a calm and effective manner.
Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Monitor and report on student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
Assist with classroom activities and ensure the safety and well-being of all students.Ideal Candidate:
Experience working with young people
Experience working with SEN or SEMH needs.
Proven ability to handle severely challenging behaviour confidently and professionally.
Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to the varying needs of students.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
An Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.Benefits:
