ABOUT THE ROLE
To create lasting memories for every guest by executing the ultimate restaurant experience. Leading and assisting the bar and restaurant teams while supporting the Restaurant Manager.
SALARY: 12.50 Per Hour
HOURS: Full time 45 Hours
RESPONSIBILITIES
DEFINING SERVICE
- Work with the General Manager, Restaurant Manager & Bar Manager to define the guest experience in all areas of the pub: Restaurant, Bar, Private Dining & Terraces
- Deliver unrivalled service, based on the fundamentals of exceptional 'old school'; help bring this to life through hands on service in the restaurant, training & development and always leading by example
- Display the recognition and intuitive service that makes guests ask: "how did you know?"
- Always aim to surprise and delight
- Tie in and bring together every section of the restaurant operation to create a "one team" ethos
- Leading services with enthusiasm and a positive attitude
- Problem solving where necessary to ensure our guests have the best experience
- Correct deviations from our standards in a polite, encouraging manner
- Bring fun to the floor - when we smile, our guests smile with us.
FOOD & DRINK
- Work with the Kitchen team and F&B Management to deliver an offering that always reflects our ethos and values
- Learn the story of The Wild Rabbit - why we operate the way we do, and why we offer the products we do
- Always provide a 'connected' food & drink experience, ensuring the whole is greater than the sum of its parts and we tell our story through the dining experience
- Make sure we are operating as sustainably as possible
- Always be equipped to always make recommendations that enhance the guest experience (this should not be reliant on specialists who hoard knowledge) -
- be knowledgeable on both food and beverage offerings
SPECIAL EVENTS
- Define the Private Dining experience - be creative and have fun with it
- Take an active role in tastings and experiences that enhance our guests' stay
- Work with our Events team & F&B team to organise social events throughout the year eg wine club; guest dinners, tastings in the wine cellar etc
OPERATIONS & SERVICE
- Be well versed on every section of the restaurant operation
- Lead by example by displaying a can do attitude and willingness to "jump in" wherever needed - have the mentality that no job is too small
- To be an active participant in all aspects of the pub service
- To highlight H&S matters to your line manager
- Running EOD reports and reporting Daily Takings to wider management team
- Assisting Bar Manager with monthly stocktakes where needed
PEOPLE
- Attend supplier training, tastings & visits
- To be 'hands on' and proactive in assisting your team member colleagues
- To actively share knowledge of your subject
- Always bring a possible solution to a potential problem
Personal
- To ensure all mandatory and legal training is complete and up to date; and refreshers completed prior to the expiry date
- Select internal and external training courses that will further your personal development
- This is not an exhaustive list but is an indicator of the typical tasks that will be required of you in your role

- To know your subject in order to make recommendations, and promote The Wild Rabbit, Daylesford & Bamford, and to help educate your colleagues on our offering and history.
- To be prepared and anticipate the business. Our service revolves around attention to detail and a great deal of preparation must be done behind the scenes to give a smooth service to our guests.
- To communicate with all guests, departments and colleagues in a positive & respectful manner. Ensure the handover of detailed & accurate information to avoid mistakes and guest dissatisfaction.
- Display the attention to detail that we are renowned for and take pride in our surroundings.
